Frequently Asked Questions

How do I begin?

Go to the contact us page and complete the enquiry form or send an email. We will then contact you to arrange a time for an initial chat. These are free of charge and usually last around 15 minutes.  We will discuss your goals and aims for a programme and give advice as to what would be best for you. You do not have to make a decision at the end of the chat if you want to go ahead, take time to think it through!

If you would like to go ahead, you will be sent a screening questionnaire and any other appropriate paperwork. We will set up an initial consultation where you will be asked in more detail about your current capabilities, complete some simple  movements for assessment and discuss anything else you wish. This usually lasts up to 60 mins and is included in the monthly fee for At Home Strength Programmes or is charged as a session for In Person Personal Training.

For At Home Strength Programme clients, your programmes will be sent out to you a few days later. At the end of each 4 weeks, you can decide if you want to continue for another month. If you do continue we will have an in person or online review to discuss the month in detail and progress your training as required.

How is the fee worked out?

Fees are charged based on the programme you choose and the frequency of contact you require. Details of fees will be discussed at our initial free chat so you are fully informed before committing to any payment.

For In Person Personal Training half of the fee is taken on booking the session and is non-refundable. The remaining balance is paid at time of session. We require 24 hours notice should a session need to be cancelled

For At Home Strength Programme and Pre and Post Natal clients the fee is taken on booking of the assessment and again at the start of each 4 week block and is non-refundable once the assessment or review has taken place. Prices will be dependent on the level of contact you require, which will be discussed in your initial contact.

You can decide at the end of each 4 week block, if you would like to continue. If possible, we ask that 2 weeks notice is given if you are not going to continue after the end of your current training block.

What equipment do I need?

At your initial assessment we will discuss any equipment that you may need.

Our exercise programmes are designed to be completed at home and recognise that equipment and space may not be easily available.

It would be useful to have an exercise mat and suitable comfortable clothing.

Weights and/or resistance bands will be required as you progress but your exercise programme can be adapted to the equipment you have.

How do I know if it is safe for me to exercise?

Before anyone begins an exercise programme, you are asked to complete a screening questionnaire to highlight any existing health concerns. It is also important that you update us should you develop any health concerns when working with us.

The exercise programmes we provide are progressive and designed to challenge your current abilities without causing undue discomfort.

If you are pre natal, an additional screening form to be completed by your healthcare providers will be provided.

If you are post natal, we strongly recommend that you have an assessment with a womens health physiotherapist prior to working with us. It is not recommended to begin exercise until at least 6 weeks post partum.

Physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment interventions are not carried out as part of Positive Move PT. Should you have an injury that requires this, we will recommend that you seek appropriate assessment before starting an exercise programme with us.
